Karen Ostlund Obituary

Karen Lea Ostlund passed away peacefully with her son at her side early March 16, 2025. She was born October 12, 1938, in Colfax, Washington to William and Maravene Ragon. She was proud of her farm girl roots. She met her husband, Don while he was cruising Spokane in his blue 1957 Chevrolet. She fell in love with his car and soon after with Don. They were married September 26, 1958. Shortly thereafter they bought their home in North Spokane and raised their two sons. After the boys started school, she went to work using skills she learned at Kinman Business School. She retired from Saint Luke's Hospital after 30 years. She and Don enjoyed summers at their place on Loon Lake for many years, making family memories and lifelong friends. She loved her coffee sitting on the deck. Don passed away just a year ago and Karen was heartbroken to lose him. Karen is survived by her sons, Eric (Lynn) and Kurt (Kim), grandchildren Alissa, Krista, Sierra, Shanna, Nicolas and Jake and 4 great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N government Way, Spokane, WA 99224 on April 4th at 12:00 pm with a reception to follow. Graveside service will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens, 5909 Cheney Spokane Rd., Spokane, WA 99224 on April 4th at 2:30 pm. All are welcome.
