Dear Maria, Ross and Aldi, we have many heart warming memories of Aldis and of all us throughout the years. We started spending time together as couples in Dallas as you, Maria and Aldis traveled for art business. Once we moved to California we could share, not only much more time together, but laughter in general over the art business & art world and about our own lives. I will never forget the sense of pride we felt from Aldis about the art you were creating Maria. There was always a sense of loyalty & love from Aldis for his boys and you Maria---I even felt it for us & our two children. He will be tucked away in our hearts and memories and will live with us forever.
We send each of you our love and support,
Steve & Carol and our adult children, Colin & Jessie

I met Aldis shortly after he and Maria moved to La Jolla. Both he and Maria were unbelievably supportive of my work. While my studio was being built Aldis allowed me to convert one of his gallery spaces on Faye Avenue into an olfactory art studio. And he never complained (at least to my face!) about the the smells I was cooking up. His generosity, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for art has left an indelible mark on me. I'm so sad to hear he has passed. My love to Maria and family.

I'll never forget the first time we reconnected when I was doing my very first open house in Venice and when we exchanged names, realized we had worked together many years before when I was an art dealer in Paris and Aldis in NY. And here we both were in Venice. We stayed friends after that. I have the fondest memories of being in your wonderful home in Venice and of course many lunches at Hal's! Sending lots of love to you Maria and hope to see you soon in La Jolla❣

Dear Maria, Sorrow runs deep.
You have been so caring and mindful of my deceased son, James McDemas- I recall we visited your exceptional art filled home and gracious welcome-
Your faith in James artistic ability validated his efforts and he considered you an important friend and mentor. Thank you both again for attending his City Hall Artist Vision dedication- I have a photo to send you- I am grateful for your unending help and encouragement to me-to continue James legacy-

Dear Aldis,
We had spoken so many times in the last few year your name keeps showing up on my cell phone. Hard to imagine your no longer here. I looked to you for advice often you gave it thoughtfully and with great consideration and concern. Try as I did to bring you business we fell short of the sale but you never fell short as a friend. I have been sad at the loss of the un replaceable, miss you where ever you maybe.
We meet because Maria's studio was close to mine. You had an after party and your home in Venice after one of my first shows. I spent many hours with you and Maria, in your home, going out dinner, with other artist and friends. Decades have past lives have changed many moves a , galleries , materials and works ago. Thanks you many great words and times and actions. Your friend, Nick
