Patsy Chandler

1937 - 2021

Patsy Jeane Chandler, 83, of Fort Collins, formerly of Greeley passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021. She was born October 7, 1937 in Lamar, CO to Winnie and Frieda (Austin) Venn where she grew up and graduated high school in 1955. Patsy received an Associate degree from Colorado A&M (CSU) in secretarial training. She got a job in Denver for the Civil Defense office as a secretary in the personnel office. Her roommate at the time was Georgia who introduced her to Donald Leroy Chandler, a student teacher. They were married November 29, 1959 in Lamar and moved to Greeley where Patsy worked in the Social Security office. She later worked for School District 6 as a secretary/office assistant for Jackson Elementary and Heath Junior High. The Chandler family resided in Santa Barbara, CA from 1977-79 and Patsy worked at the University of California Santa Barbara in the adult education department. Upon returning to Greeley, she worked at UNC as the office manager in the English department before retiring in 2003. She enjoyed arts and crafts, creating, flower arranging and decorating the churches that she attended. She played the organ and piano, saxophone in the high school band and enjoyed singing in church choirs. The family camped in their motorhome, traveling throughout the U.S. Patsy is a member of Generations Church, past member of Rainbow Girls and was very involved in First Baptist Church of Greeley while a member there in earlier years. Thankful to have shared her life include her children; Michael (Stephanie), Steve, Sheri (Randy) White and Matthew (Barbara), four grandchildren; Jared, Aaron, Karrin and Alexis Chandler, siblings; Janice (Bob) Oswald and Greg (Penny) Venn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings; Winfred and Richard Venn and Carolyn Sharp. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Adamson. Life Celebration 10 a.m. Friday, June 4 at Generations Church with reception to follow. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery.
