Albert Wilson Obituary

November 30, 1922 - December 12, 2013 Albert Pearson Wilson, Jr., of Manhattan Beach, California passed away in good spirits on December 12, 2013 in Los Angeles after a remarkable and immensely enjoyable life of 91 years. Born to Albert Sr. and Blanche Wilson on November 30, 1922 in the small, beautiful town of Monticello, Mississippi, "Buddy" as he was known to his family and childhood friends served in the US Army Air Forces at the end of World War II. He went on to study at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and later graduated from the University of Southern California. Albert pursued a long, distinguished, and gratifying career as a film editor in the motion picture and television industry, principally at Metro Goldwyn Mayer. Albert was a longtime member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the American Cinema Editors, and the Motion Picture Editors Guild. He was loved by so many loyal and close friends in the Los Angeles area and throughout the US. Albert (Buddy) was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Marjorie (Spitzberg), and his younger brothers Glen and Eugene. He is survived by his brothers Jack of Slidell, LA, Melvin of Olive Branch, MS, his close friend Bill Wengeler of Los Angeles, and a large number of nieces and nephews all of whom will miss him dearly.
