Brian Fields Obituary

October 17, 1962 - October 11, 2022 Brian, beloved husband, father, son and brother, has passed away at the age of 59 in Oak Park, California. He is survived by his wife Diana of 28 years, adult children Daniella, Jake and Kyra, mother Judith Feder, brother Stacey Fields, sister-in-law Julie Fields, sister Karyn Silver, step-brother Todd Feder, step-sister Sherri Feder, nephews Logan Fields, Griffen Fields, Max Silver, Sam Silver, Uncle and Aunt Ray & Peggy Rosenthal, step-mother Cindy Fields and too many cousins to mention. He was pre-deceased by his father Edwin Fields FAIA, and his aunt Bobbie Levine.

Brian was a devoted dad who would do anything for his kids. He shared his feelings freely and was always ready for the next adventure. His family and friends were a huge part of his life. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. A sport fanatic at heart and a die hard Trojan, he would always dissect every game, play by play, with his Phi Delt frat brothers. He loved the beach, history, gardening and hiking along the hills of Oak Park with the family dog, Mrs. Nuts.

Brian was born in Los Angeles and graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1980, received his B.A. in History from University of Southern California in 1984 and his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1988. He began his legal career as an associate attorney at Lynberg & Watkins in Los Angeles, before moving to an in-house counsel position at Thrifty Corporation. He subsequently moved to biomedical company Alpha Therapeutic Corporation, before his appointment as Deputy General Counsel and Compliance Officer for Wellpoint/Anthem Insurance Company. Brian was subsequently appointed as General Counsel of Public Storage, followed by his position as General Counsel/EVP of Health Data Insights in Las Vegas, NV. He returned to California when he became Deputy General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Privacy Officer for Healthnet Corporation. Most recently, Brian was Chief Compliance Officer for FFF Corporation in Temecula.

Services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 12:30 pm, at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Dr., Los Angeles. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cedars-Sinai Hospital's online "Circle of Friends" for pancreatic cancer research to Dr. Nicholas Nissen, Brian's pancreatic cancer surgeon.

Brian was one of the coolest attorney boss that I ever had. At WellPoint Unicare we worked non stop and barely saw one another. Truly sad to hear this news. My prayers to his family.

I worked for Brian when he was Compliance Officer for WellPoint/Anthem many years ago. He was a great boss. Even after he left Anthem he always remembered to tell me Happy Birthday every single year. He will be missed. Hugs and prayers to his family.

I just heard the news, can't believe it. Brian and I worked together in the 90s at Thrifty, with Mike Brown, Jason P, Dave Hall and Derek Johnson. We stayed in touch on and off over the years and Brian was such a funny, wise, interesting guy. He loved talking about Diana and the kids, and business and law. He had such a unique, self deprecating personality and sense of humor. This is a terrible, sad loss. Brian will be missed.

I was a paralegal at Heatlh Net, Inc. when Brian was Deputy General Counsel, CCP and CPO. Although we worked in different areas and rarely crossed paths professionally, he would stick his head in my office door with a big smile and say hi when heading to meetings. I´ll never forget the time he came in on Halloween and I was shocked when he was covered arm to arm in tatoos and burst in to a rock song. On closer inspection it was a shirt! Classic Brian.

Diana, Daniella, Jake and Kara, although I've never met you, I just wanted to let you know that Brian always made me feel special just by stopping by my office to say hi. I feel like that was one of his many talents...making people feel special just by being himself.

I wish I could say something more helpful at this most difficult time but all I can say is I´m so sorry for your loss.

We met Brian only once when Eddie & Cindy got married. Over the years I really felt like he was one of the good guys. His warm relationship with his dad was truly
a joy to hear about. Mentors to each other. Diana & the kids , family will always have great memories & good tales about their Hero. May he Rest In Peace

One of the truly good dudes who sadly I lost touch with over the last 20+ years. He blazed my professional trail -- Lynberg & Watkins to Thrifty to Alpha -- but mainly Brian was just a very good, caring friend for far too short a time. Love to you and your family, Diana.
