Bryan P. Kellaway 85, passed away at his home in Los Angeles, CA on Friday March 12, 2010. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on March 6, 1925 but spent his early years in Australia. His father was a well-known character actor, Cecil Kellaway, and he moved his family to Los Angeles when Bryan was 12. Bryan received his Bachelor's degree from Occidental College. He worked 34 years for US Borax starting in the Accounting Department and then Personnel. In his spare time he enjoyed playing piano & organ, listening to music, photography, gardening and animals, especially dogs. He was a loving gentle man who will be sorely missed by all who knew him. His brother Peter, predeceased him. He is survived by his companion John Alexenko and his sister-in-law Jo Anne Kellaway, three nieces and a nephew: David, Judi (Mason), Christina (Loescher) and Jaime. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 24th at 2 PM at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Westwood followed by interment at Pierce Brothers cemetery, Westwood. A time of fellowship will be held following the interment in the Church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bryan's name to: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Pet Adoption Fund.

And to think, I spoke with him just last month by 'phone....& he told me he was in "dreadful shape" & "utterly unwell..." I usually called him when TCM was showing a movie in which his father was starred. Guess I should have sent him some flowers THEN!!! He was always a warm supporter of my gigs at piano bars in the Los Angeles area. Peace & love, Houston Allred
