Caryn Coulter Obituary

March 28, 1956 - December 6, 2018 Caryn Kirby Coulter, oldest daughter of Webb and Rita Coulter, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6 in Pasadena, California. Caryn was born in San Diego March 28, 1956 while her father served in the U.S. Navy. She lived most of her younger years in San Marino attending Stoneman, Huntington and San Marino High School. Caryn was involved in numerous activities including Cheer, Forensics, Amicians service club and ASB student council. An exceptional student, Caryn attended Wellesley, Stanford and Smith College in Switzerland. She earned a Master's in Business from Stanford University followed by a career in management consulting and executive search with McKinsey and Company and then Lehman Brothers Holding in New York City. Although challenged with the ebbs and flows of a bi-polar disorder diagnosis, Caryn had found solace and content living independently in Sierra Madre with her cat Sweetie Pie. She enjoyed the loyal companionship of many longtime school friends and family members. Caryn is survived by her mother Rita Kirby Coulter, sisters Lisa Coulter Woolf of Fresno and Sandra Coulter Cash of Modesto. Her extended family includes brother-in-law Stuart Woolf and Dr. Robert Cash, and 7 nieces and nephews – Coulter, Morgan, Jack, Haley and Wiley Woolf, and Nick and Dana Cash. Caryn was preceded in death by her father Clarence Webster Coulter in 1999. A memorial service will be held this Saturday, December 15, 12 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1501 Fremont Ave., South Pasadena. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to National Alliance of Mental Illness San Gabriel Valley, 2550 E. Foothill Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91107, or to the charity of your choice.
