David Pechman Obituary

November 10, 1957 - August 28, 2016 David Bernard Pechman MD died at age 58 on August 28, 2016, in Ponza, Italy, following a heart attack. He was born in Los Angeles, California to Maurice and Sofia Pechman, and attended UCLA for his undergraduate degree. He then entered the Phd. program in chemistry at Florida State University, but left the program after several years to pursue an M.D. at the University of Miami. In 1986, he met his wife Susan, whom he married in 1988. He trained as a general surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and re-entered the research world pursuing a Phd. in Pharmacology at New York Medical College, working simultaneously as a general practitioner in Scarsdale, New York and as an emergency room physician on the faculty of medicine at New York Medical College. He began practice at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he served on the trauma panel for ten years. Dr. Pechman served as an Agreed Medical Evaluator for ten years and in that capacity helped patients and attorneys, building one of largest practices in the field in California. A lifelong lover of swimming and the ocean, later in life, he became an avid diver and travelled widely. He is survived by his wife Susan, his daughters, Alexandra and Brooke, and his sister Diane. Donations to the Heart Foundation (theheartfoundation.org) are appreciated in his honor.

David was an amazing man. I knew him when he attended UM and had the privilege spending time with him and social outings. He loved Turnberry Isle and we went frequently. His Wit was incredible. When I attended his Marriage to Susan, I had never seen him happier.
I am so sorry to hear of this loss and to Susan and his daughters, I express my deepest sympathies.
