Howard DEUTSCH Obituary

DEUTSCH, Howard passed away on September 22 at his home in Corona Del Mar, California, at the age of 93. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Sarah and Sidney Deutsch, he attended Ohio State University before entering officer's training, U.S.N.R. in 1939. From 1940-45, he was Artillery Officer on the Destroyer Dallas, seeing action during WWII in battles in the Mediteranean areas of Palermo, Salerno, Malta and North Africa, plus the North Atlantic. He retired as Lt. Commander. Upon discharge, he worked in his family's printing business now called Spring Dot. He was CEO until he retired in 1983 and moved to Orange County, CA. He actively supported City of Hope and the non-profit, non-sectarian O.C. senior home, Heritage Pointe. For many years he financially supported orphans in Israel. In declining health in the past 5 years, he is survived by his wife Grace, 2 step-children, Diane Siegel and Kenneth Hausman, 4 grandchildren, Seline Hausman, Ted, Andrew and Julie Siegel and many nephews and nieces. Funeral Services were held Sunday in Cincinnati, OH. He was a member of I.M. Wise Temple, Cincinnati.
