Kathleen Glisson Fleming

Kathleen Glisson Fleming died in an accident in Cancun, Mexico on April 27, 2013 at the age of 39.

Kathleen is survived by her parents, Charles and Linda Fleming of Jasper, Georgia; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Debra Fleming of Atlanta, Georgia; her niece, Samantha Fleming, of Atlanta, Georgia; and her nephews, Henry and Joshua Fleming, of Atlanta, Georgia.

Born in the small Southern coastal town of Brunswick, Georgia, on March 12, 1974, Kathleen was raised on St. Simons Island, GA, moved to Orange County, California in 1980, finished high school in Orono, Minnesota, 1989-1992, and attended Emory University in Atlanta where she graduated with a Business Degree in 1997.

Kathleen was most recently Director of Entertainment Development at LEGO, managing studio relationships to produce entertainment content for a variety of LEGO themes. Prior to joining the LEGO Group, Kathleen held senior management positions in various advertising firms including TBWA Chiat Day, Deutsch, Saatchi & Saatchi and Lowe Lintas.

Although Kathleen hailed from a small Southern town, she was a citizen of the world. She studied abroad in Spain in college. After college, she lived in New York, London, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Her work took her through Europe, Australia and Asia. She traveled across Europe, the Mediterranean, and South America on holiday, and led a team to Sri Lanka with Habitat for Humanity to help rebuild after the 2004 tsunami. She also led a team to Mississippi to help rebuild after hurricane Katrina.

Kathleen loved her family, her friends and her work. She loved books, movies, and music. She loved exercising, trying new restaurants with her friends, and hiking in the hills with her dog, Daphne. She loved to laugh and she loved life.

Kathleen was always there for those who needed her and she was fiercely loyal. If you were her friend, you were friends for life. Kathleen professed her faith in Christ and is alive with Him in heaven now and for all eternity. "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." John 11:25-26

Memorial Services will be held on May28th at 4:00pm at Serra Retreat, 3401 Serra Road, Malibu, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
