1927 - 2017

Betty Martha (Vyhnanek) Logan, 89, of Palmyra, formerly of Plum, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at the Royer House, Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra. She was born Friday, July 29, 1927, in Pittsburgh, to the late Andrew and Marie (Vomacka) Vyhnanek. She was predeceased in 2012 by her loving husband of 64 years William D. Logan. She graduated from Plum High School in 1945 and spent her life as a loving homemaker, caring for and raising her family. She had a unique creative ability, and in her younger years enjoyed quilting, stitchery and crocheting. Camping and family vacations created lasting memories she fondly cherished. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the lights of her life. Most of all, she lived for the Lord and loved her family in His image. She is survived by two sons, Daniel D. Logan, of North Highlands, Calif., and William J. Logan, of Elizabethtown, and his companion, Joyce Evangelista, of Dover, Pa.; two grandchildren, Jonathan A. Logan, and wife, Jacqueline, of Palmyra, and Jennifer L. Callahan, and husband, Michael, of Palmyra; four great-grandchildren, Clayton Coon, Keira Callahan, Evelyn Callahan and Aiden Callahan. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Logan; one brother and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, DiMatteo Worship Center, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078, with the Rev. Omar Zook officiating. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Family and friends are invited for viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at ROTHERMEL-FINKENBINDER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 25 West Pine St., Palmyra, and from 9 a.m. until time of the service at the DiMatteo Worship Center.
