MacMURRAY, Leanne
Leanne MacMurray lost her arduous battle to cancer on March 19, 2006, St. Joseph's Day, the patron saint of happy deaths. Born Leanne Pisani, Sept. 4, 1941 in Chicago, IL, she attended Marywood High School and graduated from Mundelien College in 1963. Leanne taught high school mathematics in Evanston for two years and spent two more years teaching for the Air Force in the Azores. Leanne moved to Los Angeles, California after marrying the love of her life, David MacMurray. They spent 36 years of marriage, celebrating their love. Leanne had a distinguished career in marketing at IBM for 39 years. Those who know her, know that her passion was people. Leanne and her husband raised their children in Altadena and later moved to Tujunga, where she spent the final beautiful days of her remarkable life. She spent years ministering to the sick at St. James the Less in La Crescenta. Leanne's major success was the result of her kindness, gentleness and generosity of spirit. She had a remarkable gift of making people feel always welcomed, in her home and in her heart. There were no strangers to Leanne, her loving fortitude would not allow it. Surivors include her husband, David; daughter, Stacy; son, Brian; sister, Dorothy (Sis) Fusco, many nieces, nephews, and numerous other family members and friends who loved her deeply. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 25 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 10321 Tujunga Canyon Blvd., Tujunga at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Inurnment will be private. Crippen Mortuary is directing, (818) 249-6131. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of the following: American Cancer Society for Metastatic Bladder Cancer - www.cancer.org - or Community Partnership for Youth, PO Box 42, Monterey, CA 93942 - www.cpy.org
