Paul James Davidson

1943 - 2024

June 6, 1943 - February 14, 2024 Paul James Davidson (Jimmy) passed away at age 80 on Feb. 14, 2024. He was born to Paul and Ruth Davidson at Lackawanna-OLV Hospital in upstate New York on June 6, 1943. He resided in Redding, CA these last few years until his death at Shasta Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son James, and step-daughters Kristine and Deborah. He is also survived by his brother John and sister Mary.
Jimmy was a fun-loving, outgoing person with a bottomless well of positivity that he brought to every situation. He spent his twenties playing guitar in bands all over upstate New York with first wife Sandy while simultaneously working a full-time job and raising his son James. Moving to Southern California at the end of 1976, he shifted briefly to producing music sung by Sandy and her twin sister Dianna. Later, he became a salesman for Toro Lawnmowers, which supported Barbara (second wife) and the kids through their childhood. After Toro, he founded E-Views, a company dedicated to saving lives with an innovative addition to traffic signals showing drivers where an emergency vehicle was coming from and switching the signal to favor the emergency vehicle. Though he tried for 25 years to get as many intersections around the country equipped with these signals as possible, the company eventually had to declare bankruptcy and Jimmy retired. He moved up north to Redding and spent the last years of his life with his wife Barbara and brother-in-law Bobby. He enjoyed poker, tennis, and flirting with any woman that came within five feet of him. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
The memorial will be held on March 30 from 12:00 to 3:00 at Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga, CA.
