Michael David Brown

1962 - 2021

Michael David Brown was born on January 13, 1962 to Mike and Nancy Brown in Arcadia, California. Michael lived a full and enriched life, although cut short by the ravages of cancer on December 2, 2020 at the young age of 58 years old.

As a young person growing up in Monrovia he excelled in all sports he engaged in. Michael rode motorcycles and was good at it; he was a champion novice motocross racer by the age of 16. As an adult he was a Nevada State Champion golfer and was fortunate enough to play golf on many amazing courses including St. Andrews in Scotland. He was a collector of collectible and historic golf clubs. Ally, his daughter, says he was," A collector of all things cool!"

Michael owned a successful grandstand and staging business along with his father, Mike, in the City of Irwindale. Together they built grandstands and stages all over the world. He was well loved by his employees and he enjoyed working alongside them. Closest notable event is most the bleachers along the Rose Parade route and just about any other structure necessary to build to pull off this magnificent event. You could see from the street, Michael climbing and working on those massive bleachers with his iconic bright orange shirt and huge straw hat to block out the sun.

Michael would say his biggest accomplishment in his life were his two beautiful daughters. His eldest daughter, Ally, was married this past October and Michael was able to walk her down the aisle and give her and her new husband Tyler a beautiful toast. It was a glorious day. His youngest daughter Catherine was a flower girl which made the day complete.

Michael was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, sponsor and friend to those around him. He is survived by his daughters; Ally Mitchell 22 (Tyler), Catherine 7, his father Mike Brown , sisters Sindee Riboli ( Steve), Sharon Harris (Larry), and a brother John (Tomora). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; Lisa, David, Christopher, Blake , Alex, Cecilia, Carissa, Corinna, Brody, Olivia and Delila. He also leaves his great nephew, Shane Elzholz and great niece Devyn Elzholz and other relatives including his aunts and uncles and too many cousins to mention. Michael was predeceased by his mother, Nancy. He was a present and active member of our family; he will be sorely missed.

Michael impacted all of our lives in so many wonderful ways. He was an inspiration and a positive influence as he mentored people struggling with addiction or just chatting on the phone with a friend. He was one who encouraged you and made you feel like you can get through and all will be okay. He always made time!
