I was privileged to have known Bill during the active years of my employment in California and other states. I am retired (disabled) now, but Bill has been on my mind over the past few days -- for no particular reason. I decided to find out whether he was still at the Chancellor's Office. Regrettably, I learned today that he has passed away. He was a kind and good person who reached out to me, and played a key role in my career as an African American woman who needed moral support. He gave meaning to the song, "IF I CAN HELP SOMEBODY, THEN MY LIVING SHALL NOT BE IN VAIN."

I enjoyed all the conversations Bill and I had before I would took Kelly for a walk. Bill was a very nice individual. My deepest condolences to Mrs. Dermody.

I am so sorry to hear about Bill's passing, I still can't quite believe he is no longer with us. He was a very nice and good person, and good friend. He is missed.
Mrs. Dermody, I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful son.
