Daniel Cantrall Obituary
PEORIA - Daniel Dwain Cantrall, 57, of Peoria died on Sunday, April 27, 2014.
Daniel was born on June 11, 1956, in Springfield, the son of Robert Dwain and Phyllis Trout Cantrall.
He owned his own construction company and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed model railroading, line dancing and telling stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Schmitt Cantrall of Peoria; daughter, Caitlin Cantrall of Springfield; sons, Casey Cantrall of Springfield and Cody Cantrall of St. Louis; stepdaughter, Holly (Ray) Ramos of Peoria; stepsons, Tommy and Jamie Schmitt, both of Peoria; sisters, Debra Downen of Duluth, Ga., Dena Harvey of Douglasville, Ga., and Donna (Morris) Grawey of Chatham; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
There will be a memorial gathering from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home in Springfield. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Randy Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Cemetery.

Although I had lost touch with you, Dan, after High School. I never forgot you. You were always a joy to around growing up in Chatham and during our school years. Our mutual love of dancing bonded us at the DC. Dan's friendship & support to our son was a blessing when he was in need. Although we retired in Az 9 years ago, Dan reconnected on facebook. I loss my bride to be and my passenger in a cycle accident back in 2005. A grief minister advised me to be mad at God and not myself because he can take all your anger and still love you. And have faith and know in your heart that you will see Dan again someday. I had her engagement ring melted down into a mans ring with the same diamonds and added her birthstone. So sorry to hear of Dan's passing. Though it's been several years since I last had contact with Dan, I remember him well. I became acquainted with him and his father Bob while managing a local hobby shop here in Springfield. Both were great guys. Always enjoyed visiting with them when they stopped by the store. Dan, you were one of a kind. I remember meeting you and Jen for the very first time. We laughed, joked and had an instant friendship.....I always looked forward and loved seeing you both.
