Paul Ziegler Obituary

Paul Allen Ziegler ELIZABETHTOWN Paul Allen Ziegler, 19, was born May 5, 1993, and died September 23, 2012, in McPherson, Kansas, while bicycling. Paul was a 2011 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School, where he was a member of the band, soccer team, bowling team and tennis team. He was a member of the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren. Paul was currently a sophomore at McPherson College in Kansas, studying business management, entrepreneurship and religion. He was a member of the tennis team, Mudhuckers ultimate frisbee team, bible study group, and jazz band. He also attended the McPherson Church of the Brethren. Paul is survived by his parents, Dale R. and Debra A. Ziegler, and beloved sister, Ann Ziegler, all of Elizabethtown; grandparents, Woodrow and Doris Ziegler of Middletown and Jacob and Karen Derr of Mt. Aetna. He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Arlene Ziegler and Uncle Gary Landuyt. Extended family include, Don Ziegler, Karen Hodges; Lydia and Jeff Cornejo, Sophie and Madeline; Doris Landuyt, Drew and Dylan; Dorothy and Thomas Stubblebine, Todd and Kelsey; Debbie and Don Ritchey, Laura, Becca, Ryan; Donna and Alan Benson, Eric, Katie, Mike, Jennifer; Dan and Kerri Sunderland, Jordan, Jessica, Matthew. Viewing will be held Saturday at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, 777 S. Mt. Joy St., Elizabethtown, from 1 to 4 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. (viewing from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m.) at Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren. In Lieu of flowers, two funds have been set up in memory of Paul, McPherson College Ziegler Memorial Fund, Make checks payable to McPherson College, Memo line: Ziegler Memorial Fund, 1600 E. Euclid, PO Box 1402, McPherson, KS 67460; and Paul Ziegler Memorial Fund (supporting On Earth Peace, New Community Project, Camp Swatara), Make checks payable to the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, Memo line: Paul Ziegler Memorial Fund, 777 S.
