Edna King Obituary

Edna Lee King, 91, of Oak Ridge, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

Born September 30, 1932, she was the daughter of Delwin and Lavina (Baughman) Gerheim in Oak Ridge.

Edna was a member of the Oak Ridge Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

She worked at Crawford Furniture in Hawthorn before her retirement.

She enjoyed camping, playing bingo and she traveled to every state in the United States, except Hawaii.

Survivors include a son, Michael Neiswonger of New Bethlehem; two granddaughters, Madison R. Collier (Alex) of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Morgan R. Neiswonger of Summerville; a grandson, Mason R. Neiswonger of Reynoldsville; two great-grandsons, Jaxson Collier and Zayne Forsythe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Neiswonger in 1979; her second husband, Howard King in 1996; and two sisters, Mona Gale Gerheim and Clydine Burford.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn.

Interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Oak Ridge.
