David Farlow Obituary

David Ty Farlow, August 5, 1942 - April 17, 2025

David was born in Cumberland, WI to Tyrus and Ruth (Rowe) Farlow of rural Barronett, WI. David grew up on a dairy farm and from an early age loved learning, reading, art, music, the outdoors especially deer hunting, which he never lost his love for and continued in them until his passing. After high school graduation, David attended Augsburg College to pursue a degree in the sciences. During that time, he decided to serve his country and joined the US army and was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. When David was honorably discharged his intention was to complete his college degree.

However, in August 1968 he sustained disabling injuries in an accident which changed the course of his life. David overcame many difficult obstacles. He drove his own vehicle and lived independently in his own home in Eau Claire. He was not deterred from living productively and he helped on the farm in every way possible by repairing machinery, tractors, cars, as well as assist with building projects.

David engaged with all his friends, neighbors both in Eau Claire and the Barronett area, and especially family - cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, siblings and nieces and nephews who fondly called him "Uncle D." He is survived by sister, Katha (Ralph) Tjelta of Wisconsin, and sister, Marghi (Farlow nee) McKeon of Barronett, WI. David's nieces are Sarah (Tjelta nee) (Joel) Kyrola and Martha (McKeon nee) (Brian) Lake and Jessica ( Mick Hiber) Farlow. Nephews are Peter (Jodi Nelson) Tjelta and Ben McKeon. David is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
