Sara McMahon Obituary
Sara A. McMahon, 81, of Kittanning, formerly of Munhall, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at Premier Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born May 10, 1937, in Homestead, Pa., the daughter of Dorothea (Gross) Gale.
Sara was a Munhall resident for most of her life and was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish. She worked as a dietary aide at Kane Hospital for many years before retiring in 1993, and moved to Kittanning in 2011. Sara was a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and adopted a little girl through the Feed the Children Foundation.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Robert McMahon, of Cocoa, Fla.; daughters, Kathy Toy and husband, Gary, of Kittanning, and Beverly McMahon, of Manorville; grandchildren, Jason Cirrincione, Ashley Toy, Jennifer Mulvihill, Amber Mulvihill, Ryan McMahon and Shawn McMahon; and great-grandchildren, Haley, Rylin, and Xander Cirrincione, Isabella Baksis, Grayson Combs, Mariah and Talan Farester, and Tyler, Trevor, Harper, and Tucker McMahon.
Sara was predeceased by her mother, Dorothea (Gross) Gale; husband, Robert John McMahon; son, Mark McMahon; daughter, Lynne Gidel; and brother, Chuck Mulvihill.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, with the Rev. Victor S. Baguna as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Contributions can be made in Sara's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
