Columbus, Georgia - Betty Lee Kennedy, 86, of Columbus, GA died Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Oaks at Grove Park. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service.
Betty was born September 8, 1935 in Jay, FL to the late Kermit Thweat and Nellie Enfinger Thweat. She worked for SunTrust Bank as an Officer and Branch Manager for 36 years.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elwanda Cannon Babcock, and her brother, Royce Thweatt.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 68 years, Gene Kennedy; son, Jeff Kennedy (LeAnne); daughter, Leigh Anne Thomas; grandchildren, Todd Kennedy (Megan), Lauren Money (Caleb), Alex Thomas, and Trent Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Rd., Columbus, GA 31909 or the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
