Atlanta, Georgia - It is with great sadness that we are celebrating the unexpected passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend Cherita Bouviè (Richardson) Jackson.
She passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, after suffering a stroke.
Cherita was born November 15, 1966 in Columbus, Georgia to Edward Richardson and Bobbie (Greyer) Richardson. She was a product of Macedonia and Metropolitan Baptist Churches and graduated from Hardaway High School in 1983.
In 1990 she married her best friend and the love of her life, Darrick Todd Jackson, Sr. To their holy matrimony two beautiful sons were born, Darrick Todd Jackson, Jr. in 1992 and Cristian Edward Jackson in 1997.
Cherita had a beautiful ability to authentically love and connect with friends, family and colleagues making everyone she touched feel valued and loved. Cherita often expressed her love by hosting gatherings for family and friends that included her delicious baked goods.
For more than 15 years Cherita worked at Architectural Sign Incorporated as the Director of Accounting. Most recently, she worked as a case manager and bookkeeper at DeKalb Pro Bono.
Cherita was preceded in death by her father, Edward Richardson, maternal grandparents, Robert and Nettie Greyer, and paternal grandparents, Leroy and Bessie Richardson. She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Darrick (Todd) Jackson, Sr.; two cherished sons, Darrick Todd Jackson, Jr., and Cristian Edward Jackson; her loving mother, Bobbie Richardson; a brother, Marcus Richardson; mother in laws, Sherry Mason and Marian Jackson; a father-in-law, Raymond Jackson, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Chrystal Jackson and Mia (David) Huskisson; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Regina) Jackson, Jr., Kenneth Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Tony Mason, Michael (Christa) Jackson and James (Angela) Jackson. She is also survived by loving aunts and uncles, Louise (Booker) Patterson, Brenda (Felton) Small, Sally (Preston) Harden, Sue Crosby, Robert Greyer and Karon Greyer, and a host of precious cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A celebration of Cherita's life will be held at Metropolitan Baptist Church on Friday May 12, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Reverend Curtis Crocker, Jr. She will be laid to rest at Green Acres Cemetery. My deepest condolences to the Jackson and Richardson families.
Cherita was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. We met in college and became instant friends. We shared both laughter and tears.
Cherita´s faith in God never wavered, despite the circumstances, trials and tribulations she endured.
She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. As much as we love her, God loves her more.

It is with deepest sympathy that I extend my condolences to Cherita´s family and friends. Cherita was an angel to me. I was fortunate to have met her through Toni Roberts. And, I could tell after our first meeting that Cherita had a sweet, loving and nurturing disposition. I had health issues last year and Cherita text and called every other week to pray for me and to keep me encouraged. I am saddened by her passing. I was in shock and at first could not understand how God could take Cherita from all that genuinely cared about her. I can only imagine how her family feels as it is a deep and unimaginable loss. Cherita has now spread her angel wings and has ascended into heaven and I truly believe she is seated at the Lords feet. We will not forget Cherita... her sisterhood will be missed on earth. I pray that we see her again, in the butterflies, birds and flowers that bloom. I hope to hear her whisper her words of encouragement each and every day during quiet hours. Let´s remember the amazing human that she was and may her spirit live among us. Thank you Cherita for befriending me. We will miss you.

Cherita you were the sister that I never had, the friend who I could call and talk to and know that whatever we discussed will always be between me and you. I´m going to miss our long conversations and your inspirational words. I wish we could of planned our next international trip but you were taken away from us before we could. I know you´ve fault a long battle and was tired and for that I´m at peace knowing that you´re no longer suffering. I will always remember and think about you.
