Phenix City, Alabama- Minister Doran "Yvette" Sall, 52, of 1505 Fletcher Drive, Phenix City, AL passed June 24, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Noble D. Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Baptist Church Cemetery, Cottonton, AL. Visitation is Monday, June 29, 2015 from 1 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Min. Sall was born December 4, 1962 in New Brunswick, NJ to the late Miles Fordham and the late Mozelle Henry Fordham. She was a member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL where she was a Licensed Minister. She was an Educator with the Muscogee County School District.
Survivors include her husband, Lamine Sall of Phenix City, AL; one son, Jonathan Karim Abdul Sall of Phenix City, AL; one daughter, Adama Joy Sall of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Lea Esra (Kim) Fordham of Powder Springs, GA; two sisters, Sandra Lyn (Michael) Willis of Somerset, NJ and Vivian "Vickie" Graham of Phenix City, AL and a host of other relatives and friends.

I worked with Yvette at the Campbell School as a fellow educator in Metuchen, NJ before she moved to AL. I was searching her only to find out that she passed on. I was there when she miscarried her first child. She lovingly wore an ID bracelet with his name on it. I was in the process of adopting my daughter, Caterina, from China. She gave me a bracelet with Caterina's name on it. I stored it away. Right before Caterina's wedding day, I found it. I gave it to my daughter and she loved it and put it on and wore it on her wedding day. My daughter is also an educator. I know it wasn't a coincidence I found it, and Yvette was looking down on us with her blessing as my daughter married a Christian man and they share their faith. We shared our faith many times. I will see her again.

It was at the Urban League that I befriended Yvette. Of course, I had known her mom through my mom. Yvette was such a soothing spirit. Very sad to know she was taken away so soon. My heart goes out to her family in Alabama and elsewhere. Que Dios the tenga en la gloria buena amiga.
