Henry Ball Obituary

Henry Otto Ball

January 3, 1938 - March 4, 2025

Katy, Texas - Born on January 3, 1938, Henry graduated from Columbus High School before embarking on a career as a mud engineer in the oil industry. His work took him to many places, but no matter where he went, he never met a stranger. His warmth and gift for storytelling made him a cherished presence among family and friends.

Henry proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to service. It was while serving in Alaska that he met his first wife, Dora, who was a native Alaskan. His love for history and connection to his roots led him on a remarkable journey that culminated in an invitation to have tea at Galch Hill, his ancestral home in Denbigh, Wales, an experience he treasured deeply.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica Ball, who he met in Singapore; his sister, Alice Mote; and a loving extended family of nieces, a nephew, great-nieces, and many cousins. He also leaves behind lifelong friends Billy Winn and Henry Moon, who shared in his adventures and stories over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Ball and Mary Streetman Ball, as well as his son, Robert Ball.

Henry's legacy lives on through the countless stories he shared and the connections he forged throughout his life. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

Work many years in the oil industry with him. He was one of the most intelligent coworkers I ever had the pleasure to work with. He always had time to help and enjoyed teaching coworkers so many things that help all to succeed and benefit from in their required job duties.
Always presented himself as a true professional person and I truly admired him for that.
Please receive my condolences with open arms and I wish the nothing but the best during this very difficult time. god bless

"Otto" was one of my step father's (Robert Bigham) best friends. He didn't come around much, always seemed to be traveling, but when he did, the little boy I once was sure did love hearing his great stories. When I graduated high school, I received numerous gifts. The only gift I remember to this day is a letter he wrote to me about how to succeed in the future. It was funny, sarcastic, but sweet and sincere. Otto was a really nice man. He could have starred in those "Most Interesting Man in the World" commercials. He will surely be missed.
