Josephine Jordan Obituary

Josephine Knowlton Jordan March 6, 1925 - October 18, 2009 TUCSON, AZ— Dadie Jordan 84, passed away peacefully on October 18th, 2009 at Catalina Care Center in Tucson, Arizona. Formally from Columbus, Dadie was the daughter of Daniel and Josephine Gibson Knowlton and the niece of Charles Dana Gibson, the illustrator of the "Gibson Girl". Both Dadie and her Mother were "Gibson Girls" Dadie was an excellent sports woman and excelled at golf and tennis. She was also an avid horse woman being one of the first women allowed to become a driver in the Harness Horse Racing Business, where she became successful and enjoyed for a lot of her life. Dadie loved being with her animals and family. Former wife of the late R. Curtis Jordan, Jr., she is survived by her brother, Daniel W. Knowlton and his wife Nina of Bristol, RI; her son, R. Curtis Jordan III of Princeton, NJ; daughter Jodie Jordan Piccioli and her husband Tom of Cottonwood, AZ; and daughter, Cha Cha Jordan Parmer and her husband Lamar of Hamilton, GA; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services will be held in Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please many any donations to Begin Again Equine Shelter, P.O. Box 242, Hamilton, GA 31811.

Such a sad time...Dadie was a wonderful sister and aunt and we admired her free spirit in all her endeavors. We all loved her so much and felt her love for all of us, even though separated by the miles between us. We know how much she will be missed. Love to all of you,
