Aunt Sylvia, I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. I recall having such a great time when I was a little girl when I got to spend time with you and Uncle Dick. He will be sorely missed.

I have a memory of when I was veeery young. It's about growing up next door to these people we were told to call Uncles and Aunts. But to me they felt more like older brothers and sisters, so it got a bit confusing for me seeing them come and go all the time. I decided back then that my family was just too big and that's why we needed two houses!
Then one day I noticed that Dicky (sorry, Uncle Dicky) wasn't around for a very long time and I remembered missing him a lot. But he came back. And when he did I was so amazed! There he was standing taller than I ever imagined! Looking so cool in his military uniform. I thought right then and there "Thank you God for bringing him back home". I remember feeling so proud of him! I never told him that.
I never said "Thank You" either. Thank you for ALWAYS, amidst the sea of nieces and nephews vying for the attention of the grown-ups, finding time to make me feel special. That you loved me. I will carry that in my heart always.
So I say to you now Aunt Sylvia, Thank You! Thank you for being his Life, and his Love. You and Karen, Olin and the Grandchildren made his life full, made him happy, and I am ever grateful to you all.
Forgive me for not being there to help send him off on his next journey. I will be celebrating his new life with our Lord from my home in WI.
To my Uncles and Aunts and many cousins, my prayers and love are also, always with you.
Love your niece and cousin, Lori
