Raymond Hayes Obituary

Raymond Hayes August 19, 1927- December 2, 2005 COLUMBUS, GA — Raymond Hayes, 78 of Columbus died Friday at the Harris Regional Hospital Sylva, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Friday, December 9, 2005 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus. Mr. Hayes was born August 19, 1927 in Dillon, South Carolina son of the late Chester and Albertine Marlow Hayes. He was an Auto Mechanic and a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his granddaughter Megan Hayes and a sister and brother in law, Mary and James Harring, and his wife Mildred Strickland Hayes. Survivors include two sons, Ron Hayes and his wife Colleen of Webster, NC and Donnie Hayes of Walton, NY.; one daughter, Bonnie Cannie and her husband Mick of Columbus, GA.; two brothers, Earl Hayes and his wife Joyce and D.C. Hayes, both of Florence, SC.; two sisters, Lib Smith and her husband Stan of Fayetteville, N.C. and Edith Britt of Red Springs, NC.; five grandchildren, Jon Hayes, Erin Hayes, Katie Hayes, Dennis and his wife Angela Urban, and Shaun Cannie.
