Alan Rodeschin Obituary

NEWPORT - Alan Peter Rodeschin of Newport, NH passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 21st. Born in Claremont, NH on March 21, 1962, and living all his life in Newport, Alan was 50 years old. He graduated from Newport High School in 1980 and has been employed at Newport's Pine Tree Casting for the last 27 years.
Alan had so many passions and interest – from old trains to astronomy. And cars – he loved cars. But his largest passion was his art and his music. For some who remember, Alan screen printed T shirts – on a press that he designed and hand built with the help of friends and relatives. He would do free-hand drawings of cars and motorcycles and buildings and the parts of each to such a wonderful degree. He saw the world through eyes and perspectives most of us simply missed. And his music – Alan egan playing guitar as a young child studying first under a local teacher Alfred Lather and, for a while in his late teens, played in a local rock band. Today his playing was clean and intense and he had been working to fuse styles from classical to heavy rock while using the electric guitar – he was very good.
Alan leaves behind his mom and dad – Bill and Barbara Rodeschin of Newport, a brother Bill Rodeschin and his wife Lynn of Lempster, NH, a sister Darlene McKenney and her husband Dennis of Bennington, NH. Two nephews – Christopher McKenney, Boston, MA, Marc McKenney and his wife Katie, with a very new great niece Caroline Grace, Barboursville, VA; and two nieces Erica Ingalls and her husband Ryan (a Marine currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC) with a great nephew Bentley and niece Mariah McKenney all of Bennington, NH. And a very large dog named Max.
Alan is also survived by a very large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and great cousins scattered around the country. Calling hours will be at the Newton Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street in Newport, Friday evening the 30th from 7:00 to 9:00PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Saturday December 1, 2012, with cremation and burial to follow later that day at 2:30Pm at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Donations should be made in Alan's name to a favorite charity.
