Alana Korda Obituary

Alana D. Korda

Jaffrey, NH - Alana Diane Korda, 70, longtime resident of Jaffrey, passed away on June 22, 2023, peacefully at home with her family by her side.

Alana was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on July 18, 1952, a daughter of the late Edward John and Frances (Higgins) Korda.

She attended Corning West High School, Corning, NY graduating in the class of 1970. She received her bachelor's degree from SUNY Binghamton in Binghamton, NY, before earning her Master's in Education from the University of New Hampshire.

She taught briefly but soon entered the publishing field, working for the Monadnock Ledger, and then IDG. She eventually became production editor at Eastern Mountain Sports in Peterborough. She was a puppeteer for the New England Marionettes, active in community theater productions and Shakespeare in the Park. In her free time, she enjoyed kayaking, Jeopardy, reading, and volunteering at the Jaffrey Public Library.

Alana is survived by her two sisters Meg Cramer of Athens, GA, and Christine Schrauth of Amherst, MA, as well as Hilary Fonselius, Samuel Schrauth, A.J. Schrauth, Timothy Schrauth, Corrin Pierce, Evan Cramer, Amy Kulczyk, and Becky Richards,

There will be a Celebration of Her Life on July 23, 2023 at 2 PM at The Woodbound Inn.
