Mary Edick Obituary

Mary J. Edick

Dublin NH — Mary Jean Edick, of Dublin, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2022, while surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mary was born in Peterborough, NH on February 13, 1955, the daughter of the late Hubert and Anna Pickford. She was raised in Dublin, alongside her beloved sister Kathy. Mary attended Con-Val High School, then went on to earn a BA at Keene State College. In 1980, she married the love of her life Robert Edick, of Dublin, NH. Over the many years of their marriage, they built their family home and raised two children, Thomas and Theresa. For Mary, her family was always her first priority and the source of her greatest pride.

Throughout Mary's life, she worked in many positions, including roles at Monadnock Community Hospital, FNBP Bank, and Staff Development for Educators. In the late 1980's, Mary opened her own sewing supply store, Sew New, in Jaffrey where she shared her passion for all things crafting with others. Her most treasured position was working with local kids at the Dublin Public Library. She adored and cherished reading to the children and leaving them with a smile on their faces. Aside from her jobs, Mary had many hobbies and passions, including quilting, kayaking, snowshoeing, and reading novels. Her favorite days were spent pursuing any of these interests while surrounded by her family.

Mary is survived by her husband of 41 years Robert Edick of Dublin, her son Thomas Edick and his fiancé Mira Kohl of New Orleans, LA, her daughter Theresa Edick and her partner Taylor Kingman of Cambridge, MA. Her extended family includes her mother-in-law Joan St. George of Dublin, NH, sister Kathy Stacy and husband Gary Stacy of Antrim, NH, sister-in-law Pat Hartwell and husband John Hartwell of Dublin, NH, brother-in-law Mike Edick and wife Suzette Edick of Dublin, NH, and several nieces and nephews.

To all who knew Mary, she was a nurturing soul who would do whatever she could to help those she loved, be it friend or family.

At Mary's request, there will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Dublin Community Church, 1125 Main Street, (NH Route 101), Dublin, NH 03444. Mary's dear friend, Rev. Tracymay Kalvaitis, will officiate. Masks and appropriate distancing will be required.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial donations to the Dublin Public Library, marked 'In honor of Mary Edick', PO Box 442, Dublin, NH 03444.

I met Mary at the pool and we did yoga and stretching classes together. We were together 3 times a week for over a year and thanks to COVID, the pool sessions stopped. I have missed her sense of humor and unfailing kindness. She talked about her family often and I know you must miss her so much. Please accept my condolences
