Aileen Bennett

Bennett, Aileen (McCarron) 73, of DeKalb, Illinois, formerly of Aurora, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at home. Born October 25, 1940, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Orville and Marie (Barry) Murphy, Aileen was an avid gardener who loved crafts and reading. She was a 1958 graduate of Kuemper High School in Carroll, and a 1963 graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Aileen was a member of the Southern Poverty Law Center. In retirement, she worked at the State Street Laundry in Sycamore. She is survived by her sons, Ted McCarron of DeKalb and Bill (Cecile) McCarron of Carbondale; daughters, Jacqui (Van) McCalister of Peoria and Jenny (Kash) Krishnarao of Jacksonville, Florida; and grandchildren, J.D., Zach, Drew, Kevin, Tara, Torin and Ian. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Noel Vojslavek. The memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb, with the Rev. Van McCalister of Saint Francis Anglican Church, Peoria/Dunlap, officiating. Cremation is by Anderson Funeral Home Crematory.
