Alan McHugh Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 25, 2025.
Alan Paul "Beano" McHugh, age 54, passed away on February 22, 2025, in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Born on August 22, 1970, in Kankakee, Illinois, Alan lived a life marked by hard work, camaraderie, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Following college, Alan dedicated himself to the construction industry. His career spanned decades and took him across the country in roles ranging from union mason, to job-site foreman to traveling superintendent for several nationwide retail construction firms. Known for his strong work ethic and leadership on the job site, Alan earned the respect of colleagues and crews alike. He was known to respond to questions about his daily life, with "...just doing my thing!" If he could be known for anything, it would be his ability to provide a "Level 5 Finish." If you did not know what that was, he would LOVE to tell you all about it.

Outside of work, Alan found joy in nature. He was an avid trapper, hunter and fisherman who especially loved dropping a line through the ice whenever he had the chance. His passion for fishing was well known among those closest to him. As a child, he was affectionately nicknamed "Cowboy Key," and throughout his life he carried other endearing monikers-many friends knew him simply as "Beano," or "Little Buddy." He had a signature way of responding with a cheerful "Yes, Please!" that brought smiles to those around him.

Alan is remembered by his brothers Joe, Larry, Marty, Kevin, Steven, and Jake. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Chuck's Lakeshore Inn (Upstairs), located at 352 Lake Street in Fontana-On-Geneva Lake, Wisconsin.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and joy in remembering the times shared together.
