Alexander Rowson Obituary
Alex was born April 15, 1991, in Laconia, the son of J. David and Lynn M. (Clavett) Rowson. He lived in Laconia until moving to Gilford two years ago.
Alex attended Holy Trinity School, Laconia, from kindergarten through the eighth grade. He attended Laconia High School for a year and currently was a member of the Junior Class at Gilford High School.
While at Holy Trinity School, Alex won the Arbor Day Poem Award from the Catholic Daughters of America, was selected for spelling bee and geography bee and achieved an honorable mention in the history fair. He was awarded the Christian Spirit Award in fourth grade and was an altar server at St. Joseph Church, Laconia, for many years.
Alex was a member of Cub Scout Pack 68 in Laconia, achieving the highest achievement award, the Arrow of Light. He also was awarded the Parvuli Dei Religious Emblem. In Boy Scouts, he went onto overnight campouts and hikes which he loved.
Alex worked at Funspot for two years and was employed at Paugus Bay Marina. He liked to ski, bike, fish, kayak, hike and sing.
Alex, nicknamed "Xander", had a large group of friends, both at Laconia and Gilford high schools. His crowning achievement in life was his incredible ability to be everybody's friend, young or old, and to make people smile. He was kindness personified to everyone he met and, though his life was short, he was loved every minute of it and he knew it.
In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by a brother, Adam Rowson of Gilford; a sister and brother-in-law, Amy and John Baxter of Gilford; two nieces, Danica and Logan Baxter of Gilford; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Monday, April 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia, by Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church. Burial will be at a later date in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Trinity School, 50 Church St., Laconia NH 03246; or the Belknap County Sportsmen Association (for kids fishing derby), PO Box 214, Laconia NH 03247.

Alex,
We all miss and wish you were still with us. I remember goin to the
camp when we were younger and you would be fishing, and how you would
always make fun of me for being like 5 months younger then you. Last year
when my friend liked you i would tease her n be like o im gonna call
Alex tonight n ask him out for you lol i never got the chance to do
that. But even if we didnt have the realationship cousins have i still
love you just as much as the rest of the famiy does. Lol remember in
math when we were in the same group me n my friend would goof off then
you just got fed up with us n just stopped working yourself i never did
figure out the answer to that problem. Math just isnt the same anymore.

Dear Lynn and David,
Until now, we haven't had the strength to concentrate on reaching out to you. Thank you so very much for the touching "boy holding the heart". We will forever be reminded of Ben and Xander's friendship, each time we look at it. I Have spent some time recently painting some portraits of Ben. (with many more to follow) If you would like me to do one of Xander, I would be honored.

Dear Lynn and family,
I'm stunned, and so, so sorry for the loss of your son. I've been totally out of the loop with NH news for years, but Alexander's friend Ian is my nephew.
I like to think that as we stand here in sorrow saying "there he goes", someone, somewhere else, else is leaping for joy saying "here he comes!"

Dear Rowson family - I have never met you or your son but after hearing of this tragic accident you have all been in my thoughts and prayers. What a tremendous outpouring of support from your communities and friends. I hope that it may help you to some small extent to know that so many people cared about your son and your family. I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of Alex. A few years ago, I went on a white water rafting trip with his sister and brother in law, niece and his brother. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and I hope that he felt the same. It's never easy to lose someone you love, but from what I've heard, and what I had seen he was an amazing person.
