Allen Lee McCord, 79, of Pendleton, passed away January 25, 2016 at Countryside Manor in Anderson.
He was born September 24, 1936 in Pendleton to the late Woodrow and Eileen (Brown) McCord and was a lifelong resident.
Allen retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1992 after 30 ½ years of service.
He was a 1955 graduate of Pendleton High School and served in the US Naval Reserves.
Allen was a member of AMVETS; the American Legion; Men's Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Anderson and Madison County Coin Club. He also held an Amateur Radio License.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Walters) McCord who he married, June 23, 1956; daughter, Kimela (husband, Jerry) Shaw; three grandsons, Matthew (wife, Alacia) Hurt, Kenderic (wife, Breann) Herring and Kendon (wife, Martha) Herring; seven great grandchildren, Morrison Hurt, Karson Herring, Haeven Herring, Cynthia Dawn Herring, Jayden Clingerman, Korbin Herring and Kaliahna Herring.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Herring; parents; and sister, Madonna (husband, Larry) Merrill.
A graveside service with burial following will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 at Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton with Reverend Jim Fox officiating.
There will be no public visitation hours.
Arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064.
