Allen Tappe Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 1, 2023.
Allen Ray Tappe, 71, of Arlington, TX, passed away on September 27, 2023. He was born on July 23, 1952, in Fort Worth, TX. Allen was a loving, strong, and Godly man who encouraged everyone he encountered to purposefully live the life God intended for them. He was strong when we needed a firm hand and gentle when we needed love. The world is a darker place with his passing, but Heaven shines brighter now.

Allen is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, and his brothers, David (Tammy) and Craig (Melody). He is also survived by his daughters, Angela, Jill (Hector), and Meredith (Sergio), as well as his grandchildren, Savannah (Tanner), Caleb (Amber), Benjamin, Lila, Bowie, and Farrah. His great-grandchildren, Noah, Nathaniel, Arielle, and Charlie, will carry his memory in their hearts.

Allen received his education at McNeese State University, UTA and Abilene Christian University. Throughout his career, Allen showcased his many talents as an author, teacher, coach, and minister. He left a lasting impact on the lives of those who knew him.

In his spare time, Allen enjoyed playing tennis, strumming his guitar, reading, and writing music. These hobbies truly brought him joy, especially when he could share those interests with his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 6, 2023, at 1:30 pm at the North Davis Church of Christ. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Allen are invited to honor his memory and share in the celebration of his remarkable life.

Allen Ray Tappe will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

I cut Allen´s hair for many many years. Until he said " there´s not that much to cut any more Michele". The kindest, gentle, caring person. We had great conversations and he was always true to his Lord and Savior. I pray for his family in these sadden times. Michele Duvall

My first memory after moving 6 times during my school years and different cities it was heaven to be part of the LD BELL tennis team. Cal Hopkins was the most incredible coach and person I had ever meet. The team was just as incredible and welcoming. Right away Allen became a friend l enjoyed arguing, joking , teasing and being so competitive with on the track. You see Coach had us warm up to running 2 1/2 miles everyday. Only time I beat Allen was when he let me. Even though I never admitted I knew what he was doing. Through our banter Allen helped me believe in myself and enjoy life so much more through friendships and laughter. Funny story, I was taking Doug and Allen home after practice. I was shifting gears when a bee fly up my tennis skirt I drove into two different front yards when Allen jumped out of the moving car and swore he would never ride with me driving again (and he never did)!!! I´m sure now in heaven Jesus will tell him there really was a bee. There really is so much more to say ,just know Allen and Barbara are and always will be so precious in all my happiest memories. Nothing more to say but I love you both .

I remember Alen from when he was an unusually handsome young mortgage man. He called on our offices. I never knew him well at all, but there were always smiles, laugher and happiness when he was around. I also remember that he was an openly Christian man at a time when most of us were not. He had principles and stood by them.

Allen would come by our real estate office. Probably the best time of all. He was so inspirational to me.

The one thing I can say about Allen without repeating the many wonderful things already said is this: Allen understood friendship. His unassuming and non-judgmental approach to individuals from all walks of life demonstrated the manifestation of Christ living in the faithful believer. He was able to console, guide, encourage and when necessary reveal difficult things in a loving and caring manner was one of his greatest qualities. I will miss our phone conversations and ending them with ‘I love you, brother’. May Barb and the rest of the family be comforted in Him who knows all during this time of difficulty.

I met Allen in 1995 when he taught a class to our company on 'Purposed Performance'. He also had some cassette tapes on 'Synergy'. Those tapes were with me when I was caught in a terrible snow storm in New Mexico. I listened to them over and over again as I drove the treacherous roads. They were my salvation from that trip. Fast forward 10 years, we got reconnected, he called me.... and I told him that story before he even said HELLO! From that time on he was my coach in life, business, and personal growth. Shortly thereafter, he introduced me to his daughter, Jill. The Tappe Group has continued to be a part of all facets of my life. The friendship Allen and I had has guided me to be a better person. I hope you and Dad are connected sharing your brilliant giving thoughts! Heaven gained a bright light! We will miss you! God's speed Allen!

Fav phrase from Allen "How's that workin' for you?" .... bet some of you that read this have heard that phrase too!

Allen has been the most treasured mentor of my life. I think of his wise counsel and humor almost daily since I first worked with him more than 25 years ago. I am blessed by my time with him, and send love and blessings to the Tappe family.
