Althea M. Steelman

Althea M. Steelman, 85, of Woodbury, died July 23rd at Southgate Health Care Center, Carneys Point, N.J.

Althea was born in Gloucester City and lived for many years in West Deptford. She was a Lieutenant in Intelligence in the U.S. Navy during WWII. A graduate of Paulsboro High School Class of 1937, she then went to Camden Commercial College.

Althea was a Past President of the Mickleton Garden Club. She is the wife of the late Larry Steelman. Her survivors are a sister Marvel Evans (Richard) of Chestertown, MD, Nephews Larry Evans of Washington, Paul Evans of Newark, DE, and Robert Evans of Arlington, VA, Althea’s cousin and caregiver was John C. Magee, Jr. and his wife Joan of Earleville, MD.

A Memorial service will be on Thursday at 1PM at DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, 171 Delaware Street, Woodbury, N.J., 08096 where friends may call after 12:30 PM.
