Amyr Anvar Obituary

Amyr Gayla Swanson Anvar, 69, Nipomo, Calif. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2009, after a long and difficult illness. She passed peacefully at home with loved ones by her side.
She was preceded in her death by her parents, Roy and Doris Swanson as well as her sisters Beverly Gasporotti and Cheryl Obendorf.
She was a graduate of Parma High School, and attended Boise State University and the University of Idaho . She graduated from California State University, Long Beach Calif.
Amyr moved to Teheran , Iran in December, 1961. She married Bijan Anvar, a pilot for the Imperial Iranian Air Force, on January 18, 1962. Amyr and Bijan remained inseparable soulmates for 47 loving years.
There, in a predominately Islamic country, she exemplified the fruits of the spirit and was known and cherished for her kindness, ready smile and unconditional love. Amyr and Bijan attended Nipomo Presbyterian Church in California.
Surviving are her husband, Bijan Anvar, Nipomo, California; children, Stephen (Angela) Anvar, Louisville, Kentucky; David (Suzy) Anvar, Sunnyvale, Calif.; Paul (Elizabeth) Anvar, Van Nuys, Calif., and six grandchildren whom adored her.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Lindquist Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Ogden , Utah 84401. Fifty Year's Later

So many memories, they overwhelm my mind! We were teenage girls, loving life and living it to the fullest. Cheerleading, double-dating, Job's Daughters, church activities, sleepovers, and just generally enjoying being carefree, immediately come to mind.

Unfortunately, we were not able to spend much time together in our later years, but I cherish my memories of Amyr during our early years, and from our 50th class reunion in 2008. She was the same sweet, caring, and adventurous soul I remembered. Her travels took her to faraway destinations that most of us only dream of visiting.

My sincere condolences to Bijan, her children and grandchildren. Amyr was a rare treasure that will live forever in my heart.
