Angela Dawn Waggle

Angela Waggle, 62, of Topeka, KS, died at KU St. Francis on May, 31st 2025 at 9:50pm from life long cardiovascular and pulmonary complications.

Angela, affectionately known as Ang or Angie, was born in Osborne, KS in 1963 to Donald and Marilyn Waggle along side her older brother Jim. The Navy moved them to Hawaii in 1964-1967 then to Treasure Island in California until 1970. They relocated to Topeka KS where the family still resides. After graduating from Topeka West High School in 1981 she married James Toy and was blessed with 2 beautiful children born in 1984 and 1986. They later divorced to which she devoted her life to her love of animals, gardening, and being an active part in her children's lives. Family history was important to her, devoting time to curating photo albums, researching ancestral lineage. She was a devout Christian and followed her faith closely. She enjoyed cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, KC Royals, and KU Basketball. Her creative spirit and focus on being strongly independent despite her health limitations was shown in her artistic expressions, DIY home improvement projects, and sense of style.

As a woman that has held a wide range of jobs, to name a few; hospitality, stage hand for concerts/shows and performing arts, and school bus driver. Her favorite of all was being a mother, grandmother, and dog mom.

Angela is survived by her mother Marilyn Waggle, brother Jim Waggle (Staci Waggle), son Austin Toy (Jamie Rudek), daughter Amber Leonard (Eric Leonard), grandchildren Alexis Leonard, Eli Leonard, Jameson Toy, and Holden Toy along with nieces and nephews. Also including very close family friends who loved her dearly Yvette, Kali, and Melanie. She is preceded in death alongside her father Donald Waggle and infant niece Jessica Waggle.
