Ann Johnson Hill

November 13, 1944 - March 13, 2025

Ann Johnson Hill (affectionately known as Candy), age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 13, surrounded by her loving family. We lost a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, doting great-grandmother, and giving friend.

Candy was a beach girl at heart, born in Fort Pierce, Florida, on November 13, 1944. She grew up in Long Beach, California, where she enjoyed being on the swim and diving team. At the age of 14, her family moved to Corsicana, Texas, where she attended and graduated from Corsicana High School. Candy later attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi and met her former husband, Bill Hill. Together, they were blessed with three wonderful children: Kelley, Trey, and Emily.

Candy's life was defined by her unwavering love for Jesus and His Word. She was a gifted and passionate Bible teacher who shared her faith with thousands of women over the years through her teaching at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, Park Cities Presbyterian Church, and numerous other venues.

Candy also had the gift of hospitality. She never met a stranger and loved welcoming people into her home. She showed her love for others through her home-cooked meals, thoughtful gestures, and the way she made everyone feel special. She was deeply intentional with every person she met, taking the time to truly understand and care for them.

Candy was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Ann Johnson.

She is survived by her children: daughter Kelley (Joey) Feste of San Antonio, TX; son Trey (Melissa) Hill of Dallas, TX; and daughter Emily (Moody) Alexander of Arlington, TX. Candy was a devoted "Nanny" to 14 grandchildren: Joey (Jaynie), Travis (Ashley), and Annie Feste; Tee, Olivia, Graham, and Sadie Hill; and Hill (Gabbi), Wick (Kyra), Avery (Collin), Izzy, Eyasu, Abe, and Gigi Alexander. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Dawson Feste, Hayes and Emmie Feste, Porter Alexander, and Abigail Hett. Candy had a unique way of deeply understanding and connecting with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, delighting in their individuality. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Johnson, as well as countless relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bertha, Patience, and the compassionate team at Amity Hospice, who so gently and graciously cared for Candy during her final days.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, March 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Northwest Bible Church (8505 Douglas Avenue, Dallas, TX 75225), livestream is available here, https://control.resi.io/webplayer/video.html?id=0ebf3f65-dcaa-4ac3-b721-e3f24d145fc0. A reception to follow at Dallas Country Club. Candy would love for everyone to wear bright colors to celebrate her beautiful, joyful spirit.
