Anna ENS Obituary
February 4, 1907 - February 20, 2016
Our sweet "Nanny" Anna Ens went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2016 at the age of 109 years. Anna was born February 4, 1907 to George and Aganetha Rempel in the Osler, SK area. Her schooling was in the Richmond School District and later graduated from Bethany Bible College in Hepburn, SK. She had accepted Christ as her Saviour at the age of 12. On May 7, 1949 Anna married Ben Ens and became the mother of three young teen children. She certainly transformed their house into a home by her love, her decorative touch and her incredible apple pies. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She was active in the church as a Sunday School teacher and secretary for the Ladies' Meetings. Anna loved to travel. She and her husband had opportunity to visit their son Norman and his family in Cambodia. This resulted in a trip around the world including Israel and many parts of Europe. Another time they were privileged to spend time in South America. Anna also visited her grandchildren in Guatemala. She loved the mountains so always looked forward to her visits to British Columbia. Anna attributed her longevity to having a positive attitude and always taking the stairs. When she could not see to read her treasured books she still enjoyed many books that were read to her over the telephone. Anna loved flowers! Long after her 100th birthday her deck was still cover with flowers which she tended with great care. Anna was predeceased by her parents, George and Aganetha Rempel, her husband Ben Ens, her son Norman, daughter Sophie and sons-in- law Jerry Sommerfeld, Peter Penner, and Charles Pierce. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Caroline Pierce, daughter- in-law Marie Ens, sister Stella Dueck, 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Westgate Alliance Church, 3315 Centennial Dr, Saskatoon, SK. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Place of Rescue (Orphanage in Cambodia), Box 27096, Tuscany, Calgary, AB T3L 2Y1. Arrangements in care of Stefan Funk- DALMENY FUNERAL HOME (306-254-2022).

To Anna's family - may Gods comfort sustain you over the next days. Anna was our wonderful neighbour. What an amazingly positive lady. When we introduced ourselves to her, we told her we were her noisy neighbours who lived above her. Her response was: Oh, sometimes I hear you walking up there and I say, "Thank you, Lord, I am not alone." What a lady.

This world has lost a good woman. She was so positive and amazing. I met Ann and Stella through their sister Hellen. Whenever I needed prayers I would phone Stella and I knew Stella would phone Ann as soon as we hung up.It has been a real honor and blessing having these prayer warriors in my life. Ann will be greatly missed. My condolence to Caroline and all of Ann's family.

What a blessing Anna aka "Nanny" was to me and my daughters, Vanessa & Aleisha. We met through her daughter Carolyne aka "Gramma C", who befriended us into her family/church shortly after I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart in 1985. Her whole family are truly a message from God on how to love one another unconditionally. Lots'a'love, Ester, Vanessa, Aleisha & family xox.

Mrs. Ens as I grew up to call her was an amazing woman of God. I cherish every memory of her as my Sunday school teacher. It was probably to yrs. ago I saw her just after her 107th birthday what a joy to see her again and reminisce. My condolences to all her family and friends.

My condolences to all of Annas family. She was a truly amazing lady! She was such a joy to see. She appreciated all the wonderful books that Caroline read her. She would give me an update each night. It's as if I got to read them as well. Brianna her love for you was very special. She truly thought of you as an angel. She is so very proud of you! I'm sure Anna is dancing with angels and bringing pure joy with her!
