My family and the Pickering family were next door neighbors in Marion. Janet was my best friend from when we 4 years old until my family transferred to Georgia when we were 14. Our moms were dear friends as well.
Our neighborhood had lots of kids and we all played together no matter what age you were. Kickball, basketball, hide & seek, dodgeball .... Janet wore contacts which were hard material back then. On several occasions she would loose one while playing. Her moms rule was not to move from that spot. Janet would stand still and I´d run my little legs off to her home to get her mom who would come and always find it.
Very competitive double solitaire games, visits to their C& H shoe store business, sleepovers with the best french toast for breakfast were just a handful of my childhood memories. Most of all I loved Mrs. Pickerings laugh and that smile. Thank you for my special childhood memories. Our family was lucky to have had you in our lives.

I worked with Anne when I was paying bills for the Sheriff's department and she did my claims. I loved working with her and later on after she retired she popped in to the department 2 times a year when she paid her taxes and visited with me. She was always such a delight to talk to. When my husband passed away she was so kind and checked on me. What a beautiful soul. She will be missed!
