TESTA--Anne-Renee

Died suddenly on November 7 at the age of 75 while with her loving husband, Stan Ostorzechowski, in her home on the lake she loved in Oxford, Florida. Anne-Renee had an exciting life which was seldom routine. She was born in the Bronx of parents Trudy and Soloman Testa and grew up there with her younger sister Joan who survives her. Anne-Renee was an honor graduate of Marymount Manhattan College (BA), Columbia University (MA) and LaSalle University (PhD). She married Dr. Sy Grossman, who tragically predeceased her in 1991. Their children, Seth Harris Grossman and Joy Wegner (Bradley Wegner) live in New York City when Seth is not traveling in the Far East and writing. Anne-Renee was married for 22 years to Lester Tanner who survives her. Anne-Renee was a TV star appearing frequently as "America's Psychologist" as she was dubbed by the anchors of Network News and Daytime shows. She had her own weekly TV show called "Turning Point" where she interviewed the "bold names" of Politics and the Arts. She was the author of two books published by McGraw Hill and St. Martin's Press. Dr. Testa was a Director of The Columbia University Club and lectured there and The Harvard Club on current events in her discipline. She was a guest speaker at Graduation Day ceremony of Columbia University. As somewhat of a lark she ran for New York State Assembly in the silk Stocking District against the Republican incumbent in 1994. The New York Times in their election editorial praised her for her distinctive and robust campaign but she narrowly lost in that Republican National takeover known as Newt Gingrich's "Contract with America" which also defeated Mario Cuomo for another re- election. Dr. Testa had her private office for Psychiatry on Park Avenue for most of her career, before retiring to Florida in 2015. She was a nature lover and always enjoyed the Park Avenue Malls' yearly floral plantings and winter tree lightings. Dr. Testa was a strong swimmer and for most New Years Holidays you could catch her doing her laps on Caneel Bay in St. John, US Virgin Islands. During the year, living across the street from Central Park she was out there training for the NYC Marathon, which she completed several times. She was admired and loved by so many who will miss her. With sadness in our hearts and pride in our bearing, we will bid her farewell on Sunday November 12 at Riverside Memorial Chapel at 9:30am, 180 West 76 Street. Burial will follow at the Cemetery of The Jewish Center of the Hamptons of which Anne-Renee was an early Chairperson.

Ann Renee would spend time at her Husband´s Psychiatric Practice on the upper East Side of New York while she herself was finishing her dissertation forma PH.D .She was very friendly and would make, patients feel relaxed before seeing her Husband Dr.Seymour Grossman. I remember Dr.Grossman coming out of his private office and greeting patients who were chatting with Dr. testa by asking "who do you like best,Your Mother or your Father. This question (meant as a joke);would surprise the patient and seemingly help to put them at ease. I use to be a patient of Dr.Grossman in 2965 and 1966. I returned to New York to attend my BritherKenny´s wedding when i thought of seeing Dr. Grossman again for consultation. He was very helpful I often wondered who the attractive woman at the desk outside of his office was.I am sorry to hear of her passing. She seemed like a very nice person.I am sure she will be missed.

What a wonderful exuberant personality she had. I had the pleasure of presenting her a check by the organization JAC PAC when she ran for office. I was struck by her cheerful outgoing personality. It was a pleasure to see her again ath the Jewish center of the Hamptons. May her memory be for a blessing.

Anne Renee was always the most cheerful, effervescent and outgoing woman I ever had the privilege of knowing. Her sudden death truly shocked me as I always saw her out running to the beach and always on the go. She will be truly missed. My deepest condolences to her family.

Stan, my condolence to you and to the Testa Family for your most precious loss. Anne lived a gracious and exciting life, filled with love and wisdom. I pray that the God of Abraham ease your pains, so you can calmly reflect on her life with the happiest of memories. Psalms 126:2

Anne Renee' was a joy to know. She liked to dance to our little bar band in Florida. She was generous with complements and even made inquiries into finding us a recording contract. She was always kind, funny and warm. We shared some really bad jokes and laughed quite a bit. I was always glad to see Anne Renee' and Stan at our gigs !!! I saw her as a real bright light in the world and couldn't help but love her. She made a lasting impression on my wife as well even though they only met a time or two. Thanks for being you A.R !!!
