ANTHONY BRAUNSTEIN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 17 to May 18, 2017.
BRAUNSTEIN
ANTHONY F.
Age 51, surrounded by his family and friends, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 15, 2017, of Baldwin. Beloved husband of Dana (Chase); father of Anthony, Abbey, Matthew, and Olivia Braunstein; pap pap of Hailey Braunstein; loving son of the late Herman and Marcella Braunstein; brother of Thomas (Edith), Michael (Linda), Marcy (David Jones), Diane (John) Curry, Laura (Dale) Wiggins, and Mary Ann (Robert) Sweeny; son-in-law of Carol Chase; brother-in-law of Dawna (Gabe) Ridgeway. Also survived by his best friend, Ron Kinzel; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Born on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Anthony graduated from North Catholic High School. He worked for Eat 'n Park for 30 years; most recently as General Manager of the restaurant in Whitehall. Anthony was diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer in December of 2015 and was loved so much by so many that it was frequently said "if love could cure cancer, he would have it beat." He was devoted to his family and loved the Lord very much by putting his Christian faith into practice on a daily basis. His warm smile, huge heart, and great sense of humor will not be soon forgotten. The Braunstein family want to thank his friends and coworkers, Eat 'n Park Hospitality Group, and the local community for their love and support in fundraising efforts and the many acts of kindness. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, 15227, on Thursday and Friday, May 18 and 19 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Funeral service in The Log Church (formerly Hilltop Baptist) at 11:00 a.m. Please send condolences to

Anthony was the person who got me my first job as a dish washer in Bellevue. We use to walk home from work at night singing one of the songs from "Grease 2...COOL RIDER".

He was so pleasant and we always loved seeing him and his smiling eyes and face. I still remember him giving out awards at Eat n' Park for services of the employees and he made it fun. May his soul rest in peace and now he can watch over his family.

My sympathy goes out to the entire Braunstein family. While I did not know Anthony personally, I grew up on the north side and knew the family well. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

We did not know Anthony personally, but feel like we did because of the way he treated us as guests at Eat'n Park. He always had something nice or funny to say, and made you feel welcome. If there was ever an issue with our visit, he resolved it with a big smile on his face. We still love to see his picture on the wall on our many visits to the restaurant, and feel like he's still a part of the place. Our deepest condolences to his wife and children on his passing. We all enjoyed a small part of him in our lives too!

To the family of Mr. Braunstein,
I am very sorry for your loss. I didn't know Mr. Braunstein personally, but I'm sure he's come over to our table at ENPark at one one time or another to ask if everything was ok.

Dana,
The bright smile, warm welcome, and kind demeanor will forever be missed at the Eat N Park on Rt 51. Not to mention how amazing he was in his personal life. His belief in God, family and friends did not go unnoticed by all. A true gentleman. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

Dana- I am so very sorry for your loss. Anthony was an amazing friend of mine growing up on Frederick Street. There isn't a childhood memory that I have that Anthony wasn't a part of. Anthony and his family were a big influence on me growing up. He will be missed by many. God bless you and your entire family.
