To The Calia Family,

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to you. I knew Anthony just well enough to know that he was a great person. He knew his customers too. Once I saw him in a supermarket, and he said "Hey Rampino", which made me smile for some reason. May God continue to bless and watch over all of you.

Carissimi Burt , Carmela , Joane e Enza ,

To my friend Anthony

With deepest sympathy to Bart. "Carmela's" has been a part of our family's life since it opened. Whenever anyone leaves LI for vacation or business, the first place they go back to or call up for a Pizza is Carmela's. Anthony will be greatly missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I must start by saying, I did not know Anthony personally but I've been to Carmelas and I've seen him in action. I accompanied my friend to the funeral for support and after hearing Anthony's friend Kerry get up to give his eulogy at the Church, I wish I had known Anthony. From what Kerry described in his eulogy, Anthony sounds like the kind of guy that everyone would be lucky to have as a friend. That was by far, the best eulogy I've ever heard. It really made me feel as if I knew him. I felt the pain in Kerry's voice. He seems to have as much charm as Anthony did. Kudos to him. To Anthony's family and wife, please accept my heartfelt condolences. This was definitely a true catastrophe.

Dear Mr. Bart, Carmela, Joanne, and Enza,

I am so sorry for your loss. Anthony was not only my boss but my friend. I loved the years I worked for your family and I will treasure the memories I have of Anthony forever. I will never forget his smile, his funny sayings, or the way he'd dance and sing around the restaurant. Like the Priest said, he was the "Prince of Franklin Square." Everyone knew him and loved him for being such an amazing human being. If people were half the person he was, this world would be a better place. I will miss him so very much. My heart goes out to your family and you are in my prayers. Much love to everyone.

I never had the chance to say it when Anthony was alive but, April 20th will forever remain one of the worst days in my life. Anthony and I shared a very special friendship, one Ill never forget BUT always treasure !!! All of the long conversations and the hours of laughing and practical jokes that we would play on each other seem like just yesterday. Why Anthony??? I'lll never know. To Bart and Carmela, I want to let you know that you raised such an extraordinary son. I'll never know why God has put us on seperate paths but until we meet again Anthony, I'll always traesure my memories of you and then I can say thank you for touching my life they way you did !!!

We just want you to know that we hold you in our thoughts and prayers not just for today but always. Anthony will always be in our hearts especially when we are anywhere near Hempstead Turnpike. For Bart and Carmela as parents we can only wish that our children would have the same love and devotion that your son had for his family.Enza we never met you but heard all about you from Anthony, he truly loved you. May Jesus give you all the strength and peace that you need. Michele, Joe Spano and Family

I fondly remember Anthony saying, "You have the life my friend. Young, rich, good looking, what else could you want?" I met Anthony around 1989, and this was just one of the charming and original lines he was known for. I will always remember this man, as he was always someone I looked up to and respected, someone who was always very mature for his age, even back then at age 18. His sense of humor was heartwarming and clever, for example if someone was taking a long time to place an order at the pizzeria he would say, "It's OK, we are open until 2", but always with a smile. Sophisticated and polished, but friendly to all--I will never forget him, he lives on in all of us. Dio Benedice Anthony, Li manchiamo ed amiamo.

Dear, Enza, Mrs.and Mr. Calia, and Joanne

My prayers are for Anthony and my thoughts are for you. It is an absolute tragedy to lose a son, a husband and a brother. What can I say to numb the pain? What answers can I give to heal the heart? What reasons can I give to justify your loss? What can I do to make things better? Let me help, let me ask God to give you peace. Close your eyes and think of Anthony. See him smile, see him happy remember his love. My prayers are for you and my thoughts will always be for Anthony.

.......... till we meet again brother, Rest In Peace.

To the Calia family, Although I no longer live in Franklin Square, one of my favorite stops when going to visit my mom is always at "Carmela's". I look forward to seeing my old friend Anthony. I just keep picturing him walking out of the back to say hello with that great smile! I can't begin to imagine the pain that you are all experiencing. Please know that I am praying for you all daily. To Bart, Carmela, Joanne and Vincenza

Remember that your loss is shared by many friends who care, and that you're in our thoughts and hearts and in our every prayer. May you find the courage to face tomorrow in the love that surrounds you today. May the love of friends and family be a source of comfort to you at this time. At this time of sorrow may these truths sustain you… your loved one will always be as close as a memory and the God of all comfort is always as close as a prayer.

It will be the little things that you will remember the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memory of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again.

Those we love are never really lost to us, we feel them in so many special ways, through friends they always cared about and dreams they left behind, in beauty that they added to our days...in words of wisdom we still carry with us and memories that never will be gone... and those we love are never really lost to us for everywhere their special love lives on. Those who live in the hearts of others.... Never die.

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW HOW VERY SORRY WE ARE

Just a Poem In Memory of Anthony Calia

I thought I heard your voice today,

then laugh your hearty laugh.

And then I heard the angel say,

“There's peace dear one at last.”

I thought I felt your touch today,

in the breeze that rustled by.

And then I heard the angel say,

“The spirit never dies.”

I thought I saw my broken heart,

in the crescent of the moon.

And then I heard the angel say,

“The Lord is coming soon.”

I thought that you had left me,

for the stars so far above.

And then I heard the angel say,

“They left you with their love.”

I thought that I would miss you so,

and never find my way.

And then I heard the angel say,

“They're with you every day.”

“The sun, the wind, the moon, the stars,

will forever be around,

reminding you of the love you shared,

and the peace they've finally found.”

Love Always,

e

To the family of Anthony,

The word sorry does not describe 1% of how this has affected me.Anthony was at first my boss, than he became a friend, and in a short time he became someone that I could always count on.Anthony believed in me when at times I did not believe in myself.I knew that all of those nights we stayed up playing cards, that I was sitting with a great human being! I know now that I was sitting with a Saint!God is lucky to have Anthony with him. I am a better person for having him in my life now and forever, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN ANT.
