Uncle Tony, home on leave from USMC. It was Christmas, and I was so excited that he was home, I missed him so much. So much, that I slipped one of my "squeaky" toys into the bottom of his duffle bag. It was a frog! He had no idea, and on his way back as he travelled and dropped his bag here and there, he could hear a squeak. He had no idea where it was coming from. . . . . .until he got to the barracks and emptied his duffel bag, and found my Frog. He saved it and brought it back to me the next time he came home. I was his first niece, we had a special bond. I still have my "Cinderella" book he got me for Christmas when I was 7. He took me and my best friend Theresa to "Kings Department Store" on California Street to the record department and he bought me my first 45 record. We went to the beach every Sunday for years the entire family at the time, my Mom and Dad, Uncle Bert and Aunt Audrey, Auntie May, and Uncle Tony (I had to uncle Tony's). and even my Grandmother would come. Grandpa, stayed home, and watched the grapes grow. My only 2 cousins at the time, Loralyn and Tommy, Me and my brother Bob, would hang out with Uncle Tony at the shoreline, building sandcastles and swimming. This was a ritual we all did for years. It kind of waned away by the time I entered high school.

Another great memory I had was when he purchased is "Nash Rambler" car, it was bright blue and shinny. He was so proud of that car. He took us for rides all around Watertown, playing the radio, and singing away. When he came out to see me and my brother Bob in the Spring of 2014 we ran into a Nash Rambler just like his! It was a sign, he was having the time of his life, and he had to get a picture with it, which I posted.

I have deep fond memories of you Uncle Tony. There was never a dull moment when you were around.

More memories to come!

I will always remember Uncle Tony as a man with a huge heart and always quick to smile and laugh. I will remember and treasure our many wonderful chats. A visit to Boston was always so looked forward to and Uncle Tony helped us feel like it was our home away from home. My deepest condolences to my Aunt Elaine, Christina, Mark, Rachel and the boys. Love you all so much. Uncle Tony you will always hold a special place in my heart. Love, Debbie
