Anthony L. Shivers

Anthony Lamont Shivers was the first of three children born to Stephen and Carolyn Shivers on August 17, 1968. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, Anthony attended the local elementary and middle schools and graduated from William A Wirt High School in 1987. Anthony loved God and accepted Christ in his life.

Anthony worked several asbestos removal jobs and he worked in the Amazon and FedEx warehouses before he was fortunate to own and operate his own Car Wash and Window Tinting Business. He extended this business to include making custom license plates and window decals.

Anthony's love of music was known his whole life. He spent endless hours watching his Armour family uncles live out their musical talents on the drums, the bongos, and the guitar. This is where he gained his significant musical talents. Anthony enjoyed playing the drums for his church, other local churches and just spending time creating new drumbeats for social media content. He was truly a musical giant!

Anthony met the love of his life, Rosie M. Davis, more than 30 years ago. They married April 25,1995 and were blessed with three handsome loving sons. Anthony also had two beautiful daughters. Anthony cherished his family and was always very proud of his wife. He was beyond excited when grandchildren started to arrive and took to the role of "Da" and "Grandpa" to them. Anthony and Rosie navigated life together; they faced every challenge and enjoyed every success in the same way...together.

Anthony fought the fight of his life, when he was stricken with colon cancer; the Lord saw fit to say to Anthony, "Well Done, Thy Good and Faithful Servant" on Sunday, March 16, 2025. While we are grateful that Anthony no longer suffers, words cannot express how much we will miss him.

Anthony is preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents. He leaves to cherish his legacy and memory his loving wife and best friend, Rosie; his daughters Jacquena (Donny) Singleton of Ethelsville, AL, Christina Gambler of Robbinsdale, MN and sons, Stephen A. Shivers, William L. (Oriaunna) Shivers and Jeremiah I. Shivers of Gary, IN, his siblings Marvin (Denedra) Hawkins, Tommie Johnson of Gary, IN, Nedra Cobb of Shelbyville, KY, Kimberly (Keith) Jones of Middletown, DE and Miisha Johnson of Gary, IN; his very special bonus moms, Rosie Shivers and Levana Briggs; his grandchildren, Asiah, Ke'Auhja, Isaiah, Harmony, Kayden, DiCaprio, Kashmir, and Noelle. To further cherish his memory is his special cousin/brother, Raymond Armour, Jr (Kandesse) of Gary, IN and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him tremendously.
