Augustus "Duke" White Jr. BRADLEY -- Mr. Augustus "Duke" White, Jr., 81, husband of Mary Elizabeth Perrin White, of 110 White Road, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Self Regional Medical Center. Born April 4, 1934, he was the son of the late Augustus and Pearl Warren White. He was a self-employed as a Pulpwood Logger and was a member of Crossroad Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent. He also formed the first All-Male Chorus at Cross Road Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Promised Land All Male Chorus, the Promised Land Fire Department and the Progressive Lodge No. 403. He Leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Mary, of the home; two sons, Rex White of the home and Bobby White of Greenwood; five daughters, Alice White Curenton of the Promised Land Community, Joyce Ann (Leonard) White, Frankie (Lee) Wright and Vickie White, all of Greenwood and Carolyn (Gregory) Hackett of the Promised Land Community; four sisters, Peggy (Howard) Miller of Anderson, Helen Norman of the Promised Land, Mary (Sam) Leaman of Laurens and Emma Jean (Johnny) Wright of the Promised Land Community; fourteen grandchildren, three raised in the home Dementrius Curenton of Columbia, Kecia Clark of Greenville and LeeShay Wright of Atlanta, Ga.; nineteen great-grandchildren; six sisters-in-law, Stacia Stevens, Marie (Willie Lee) Boyd, Patricia Perrin, Mabel (Rev. Tommy) Rodgers, and Dorothy Warren, all of the Promised Land Community and Helen (Marion) Morgan of Greenwood; two brothers-in-law, Rev. Henry Perrin and Rev. Willie (Loraine) Perrin, both of Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memories. Services will be conducted on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 1 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Coronaca, with Rev. Joseph Caldwell officiating and Pastor Bernard White presiding. Burial will follow in the Cross Road Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12 noon. The family is at the home. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com .
