Dr. Balvir Ramgorta

RAMGOTRA, Dr. Balvir Singh Passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on September 11, 2011 in Surrey, BC. He will be affectionately remembered by his loving wife of 51 years, Pushpinder Kaur and his children Kirandeep (David), Manjeet, Jaspal (Charline), Inderjeet (Jim) and Satnam (Jasmin). He was an inspiration and will be deeply missed by his five grandchildren Keejaa, Jasmmine, Neel, Tahlia and Paulina. Born in Kisumu, Kenya Dr. Ramgotra emigrated to Mankota, Saskatchewan in 1968 after completing his medical degree at King's College, University of London (England). He moved to Saskatoon a year later where he practiced as a G.P./Surgeon in Saskatchewan until he retired in 2000. In retirement, Balvir and Pushpinder moved to Surrey, BC to be close to grandchildren and several of their oldest and dearest friends. Spending time with family and his many friends were the moments he cherished most. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2011, 11:00 am at the Riverside Funeral home, 7410 Hopcott Road, Delta, BC V4G 1B6. Followed by Bhog at the Gurdwara Sahib Brookside, 8365 - 140th Street, Surrey, BC V3W 5K9. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
