Barbara Francis

Barbara Therese Francis was born on October 9, 1946 to Coline and Ralph Jeter in Union, SC. Along with her older brother, Dennis Jeter, they migrated to Boston, MA when she was still an infant.

Barbara attended Boston Catholic schools and later graduated from the Jeremiah E Burke High School. After graduation, she began taking accounting classes at Bentley College. She then became a military wife, had two children (Paula & Michael) and travelled around the world for well over 10 years. While stationed at Minot Air Force Base, ND, Barbara completed her college degree at Minot State University with a major in the field of Accounting. She worked for Input Output Computer Services (IOCS) for many years and spent her final years, before retiring, at Fidelity Investments where she was a Customer Service Manager for their benefits call center.

Barbara took great pride in her family and her never ending quest to make her home look spectacular. She was a very creative person who enjoyed different hobbies and personally undertook many home improvement projects. She loved movies, music, dancing, great food and most of all family gatherings. Barbara hosted Christmas Day for her children and grandchildren for decades, often going above and beyond for our annual Yankee Gift Swap while also providing personalized and practical gifts we all could use. She had an amazing eye for elegance and home decor.

Barbara passed away peacefully on April, 10th 2025 and is survived by her daughter Paula Francis-Springer (husband Derek S. Springer) and her son J. Michael Francis (fiancée Elizabeth Castillo) as well as her grandchildren, Olivia Francis, Naia Joy Springer, DJ Springer and Sydney Coline Francis. Barbara also had many other sisters and brothers in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Barbara is predeceased by her mother Coline Jeter (aka Nana), her father Ralph Jeter and brother Dennis Jeter (aka the "original" Uncle Man).
