Barbara Anne MacKay

MacKay (McKenzie), Barbara Anne Age 93 of Bow Lake, Strafford, NH. Formerly of Sun City Center, FL and Lexington, MA. Passed September 17, 2024, at home in hospice.

Barbara lived a full life with extensive travel in their motor home, spending summers at Bow Lake and enjoying winters at Kings Point, Sun City Center, FL. Barbara was always a cheerful person and influenced all those she met. She and her husband opened MacKay Hardware in Lexington, MA which they ran until 1989.Barbara was active in her many church homes of Lexington First Baptist, First Baptist Church of Ruskin FL, and Bow Lake Baptist Church.

She was the wife of the late Donald B. MacKay. Loving mother of Scott D. MacKay, and his wife Mary Anne of Westford, MA and Susan J. MacKay-Higgins, and her husband Michael of Bow Lake Strafford, NH. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Morgan (MacKay) Maguire and her husband Ross of Andover; Taylor (MacKay) Elder and husband TJ of Westford, MA; Matthew MacKay Higgins and his wife Elise of Savannah, GA. She has 5 great grandchildren: Charlie and Jack Maguire, Gracie and Tommy Elder and Selah Biss Higgins.

A graveside service will happen at The Gardens Cemetery 670 Baker Street Boston, MA on Nov 2 at 11 AM. Visitation will follow at the chapel at The Gardens Cemetery.
